Pierce is not liked very well from neighboring schools. Pierce is known for home cooking refs and recruiting area players big time.

If you notice, most posters here on the 3A board post more about Pierce than their own school. Think of Pierce as Alabama, and the others as Auburn. The "little brother" syndrome. Pierce is more successful in all athletics and in academics than its region rivals, and they enjoy when Pierce loses even more than when their own school succeeds. Speaks for itself. Grown "men" just waiting, waiting, to relish when high school kids fail. A shrink could make a fortune setting up an office in some local counties, but I digress. Meanwhile, I remember when Hart County came to Pierce a couple seasons ago for a playoff game. That was a great atmosphere, and the Hart fans were fantastic. The Rabun fans were equally as fantastic. And the Rabun players exhibited total class throughout the game - I saw Pierce and Rabun players helping each other up all game. Those NE GA schools are my kind of peeps.

Never understood how another team's losing boosts your own. It doesn't. I actually root for our region rivals, and for Ware, unless they are matched up against Pierce. Because it's kids, dude. And it's just a game.

Pierce Co will always be hated until they stop the home town cooking refs plus stop the recruiting ring there.Gold leaf association is set up right there in Pierce so you know rest of story

I know, I know. It's all a grand conspiracy. Envious people hate others' success. Don't be that guy - you are better than that. Celebrate your own successes. Good luck to Appling unless they are playing us!

Those refs also helped our One Act Play team, cheerleaders, and SAT scores. LOL. Keep on obsessing, man. If Pierce disappeared off the face of Earth, you still have the life you have. Look in a mirror, seek therapy, and just worry about your own team.

I do think the refs are a little slanted against a team that runs the spread offense because receivers that block for there team mate who did get the reception must hold there blocks a little longer on the edge. The TD that Rabun got called back because of "holding" on #34 was about a good a block that you can do.

I mean I see the point....I think Pierce had a QB from Brantley several years back, I know they've recently had 2 or 3 really good athletes from Bacon and that #1 Bell kid is from Bacon and still lives in Bacon...I know his Dad and Granddad. His grandad owns a service station in Alma. So I see why it looks so suspicious. Oh and also I remember a Kid from Jeff Davis who was the QB for JD being on the Pierce sidelines with blue booster shirts all around him and his dad for a Pierce county Game against Liberty. Just so happened to be Stetson Bennett's senior year and the JD QB had a year or two left. Someone else noticed it too and put them on blast on the vent so nothing ever came of it. Why else would the JD QB with a year or two left be standing on Pierce's sidelines with Pierce county boosters all around talking to him? Sketch to say the least.

Secret phone calls by certain ones from Pierce to players around south Ga and those recruiting calls went to players in Appling , Wayne , Bacon, Jeff Davis and etc . There were records of those phone calls presented to person from Bacon Co that had connections to the GHSA and he was to turn Pierce in for a violation of recruiting than that person done a complete flip and decided not to do it. All of this happened several years ago with the Bennetts came on to the Pierce Co campus. Why: to recruit Pierce a state championship because the original home players wasn't good enough to do it and the coach there at the time (Pender) agreed with it as long as he could keep his nose clean. He hired Lay coaches he could trust , gave them instructions on how recruiting would work and who would be on handing out the money from local business or who would offer big time paid jobs for parents to bring their kids to Pierce to play. I never understood why that person never turned Pierce in for their recruiting unless it was because of money or threats . Would had been an easy recruiting violation for the GHSA to handle at the time and punished Pierce. I did get my information from 3 different places that Pierce was involved as recruiting back than they were Bacon , Brantley and Appling ( where 2 players were actually called). All sources of information was very reliable . So here we stand today why there is so much friction towards Pierce Co. While telling parents to move their kids to play at your school in a sport may not be a violation but using money influence or good paying jobs certainly should be. And yes the starting QB from Ware was offered to come to Pierce last year , he went to Pierce along with a parent looked around but his heart was just too much still in Ware Co.

I would love to be at the Pierce-Appling game at the end of the year. I bet it will be a knock down drag out. The game should be pretty good as well. Sounds like they might need to beef up security.
