1. Chief- you will have a level playing field next year.
2. Sherwood has the talent to win. Our coach could have won 3-4 games this year with that team. They need to schedule smarter next year among other things.....
3. I’m not obsessed with money. I’m obsessed with keeping our program alive and healthy and having affordable pvt school education. This was only our fourth year of varsity football. I have a 5th grader and a first grader that plays sports.
4. The safety of the kids- don’t preach to me about the kids. All the young men on our football teams are my kids. If you don’t believe me, just ask one of them. This year we had one serious injury. My son played the last 5 games with a torn meniscus but we only lost one player for more than one game. Playing the the brutal GISA schedule from years past, we usually would lose 3-4 All region players for more than 3 games the prior two years.
5. Basketball- Chief- our move to the GICAA allowed the GICAA to go and get two more GISA schools. Our basketball region is local and South Georgia made up of 4 basketball teams with Strong Traditions in GISA basketball. Highland (Valdosta), Ga Christian (Valdosta/Dasher), Grace Christian (Bainbridge) and Fullington (Pinehurst).
6. I do not know GT 2006. If I were the moderator I would do things differently.
All this has become so tiring and draining. All I have ever wanted for the last 4 years is a merger and a 4 division football and 3 divisions in other sports league. That is what’s fair and in the best interest of small pvt school sports.

We all know you can’t win an argument on the internet. But We enjoyed this year and did much better at the gate and concession stand that last year. We are happy when we compare our situation with the GISA over the last 3 years on all sports. Maybe next year will bring each of you a little peace as the league continues to mature and develop. Your heart is in the wrong place if gates and concession's is what your basing the league on. I could care less. I want an equal playing field. So your saying it was a pleasure to get put out of the playoffs by one of the largest schools in the league? Ask your kids if they think that's fair. I don't remember saying anything about safety or injuries Jody. I said ask "YOUR KIDS IF THEY THINKS THAT'S FAIR" . Injuries happen no matter if your riding a bicycle or playing hop-scotch. You know that, it's how you make your living.

You are right. Fairness- the GICAA playoff system this year was fairer than the GISA schedule and playoffs in GISA AA. We had a better shot of winning state this year by moving to the GICAA even playing against much bigger schools.

It's hard to call it a "system" when everybody makes the playoffs and 1/4 of the teams have a bye in week 1.
It's a joke, no matter what league, for a "0 and 10" (I realize that nobody actually played 10 regular season games) team to be in a playoff tournament.
Only in certain movies does that work out.

You realize, of course, that 3 kids that attend North Forsyth HS play for one of the GICAA schools up that way. When contacted, the head of the GICAA said they had no control of where players went to school. Are you kidding me ? True story !

I had not heard that story but i can tell you eligibility has got to be a big problem specifically with these home school allowed player. Look at Dawson Christian . At the beginning of the year they were listed in the GICAA, then they were taken out. I read on the other vent where they had to many home schoolers to be eligible for the playoffs which came from the poster that claimed to be the coach. When we played them i was wondering how many would actually be eligible under normal rules of high school football. I can say , yea he has no control over where kids go to school , BUT, he does have control over eligibility and that should not had happen. To Mr. Jody " THAT IS BUSH LEAGUE IF HE SAID THAT"

That is really what we are talking about with schools that should be playing 11 man and not 8 man and the smaller schools in GICAA? Is'nt that why GICAA was formed?

With the reduced # of players allowed to play 8 man, you either have tryouts and cut kids off the team or you move up. Looks like Westwood will be 11 man gisa so we are off the gicaa radar.

All I know is We had a positive experience this year, excepting a few dirty plays and comments by Life. 2. Intellivent you can make the same argument about 1-9 teams in GISA making the playoffs. 3. We have 42 schools playing football in GICAA. I guess we could have 4 Divisions with 4 State Champions with each Division having 10-11 teams. Maybe the number s will fall that way for next year. Are y’all following me to the Basketball room?

If you have 40 teams playing 11 man then it should be divide by geography and #'s

Smh. That’s what it will be next year. So you will have 10 teams playing for a state championship all in 1 division when you will have 40 teams playing 11 man football?

We had a better shot of winning state this year by moving to the GICAA even playing against much bigger schools. Having a better shot at winning a title does not equal "fairer." Playing a school 2 to 3 times (sometimes even 4x) larger does not equal "fairer" just because they play at the same competitive level as you. What would not have been fair about playing in the GISA this year? You would have been classified with other schools based on enrollment. TJA is by far the smallest GISA school, but you don't hear me complaining that we got our butts handed to us this year by everybody. Some people just want to win at all costs. Everybody can't be a contender every year. That's just not how the world works. Go ask the Cleveland Browns.

We dont play in that league. If we did I would look to see how they stack up. We did play TJA in a scrimmage and they beat us .
