That's a good move for both teams.
Calvary is a solid team. Was the GAPPS runner up. Lost tp a very good Skipstone team. Would like to see Skipstone make the jump but I don't see it happening.

Rock Springs also announced. Will be interesting to see if that’s all the schools that made the move or they’re just waiting to announce others.

Rock Springs is interesting. Wonder if the Douglas County schools (Harvester and Kings Way) will follow suite. Harvester wouldn't be a bad choice. Kings Way may not do so well.
Wonder since Region rivals are moving on up if Skipstone and Griffin Christian will go on over.
Don't see Crosspointe making the move.

If you’re referring to Harvester Christian they made the jump the last cycle and have been playing in A the past two years. Unless there’s another Harvester that you’re referring to.

For some reason I thought they were still GAPPS Forgot Memorial blasted them in the playoffs.

Well what happened with those 10 or so ATL privates that the GIAA leadership and that word is used very loosely, kept saying were going to make the move from GHSA? As usual another false alarm once again

The football schools are: Athens Christian. 0-11 in GHSA D1- A. shutout in 7 games and only scored 14 pts in the other 3 (42 combined). known for the safety forfeit against Prince Ave in the first round. 23 players with 6 Sr's. They were pushed up to this division. Possible AA or AAA school.
Rock Springs. 2-7 record in GAPPS AA. 21 players with no Sr's. Looking like A or AA school
Kings Academy. 8-4. GAPPS AA. 34 players with some 8th graders, and had 6 Sr's. AA or AAA school
Calvary (Columbus). 7-5 in GAPPS AA. 42 players with 9 Sr's. there are 8th graders on the roster. left as a AAA school and should return as one.
That leaves AA GAPPS with 6 11 teams.
Sherwood is set to play one season at 8 man and then jump to 11. AAA team.
The other schools play basketball and this is not a basketball board.

Athens Christian and Calvary Columbus are like Sherwood old GISA members that will be returning, so Sherwood will play 8 man for next season and then right in the middle of the next reclass cycle they will switch to 11 man. Wow only in the good old GI whatever it’s called now.

tank, just one more way of telling the real 8man schools that u dont matter. its all about dangling whatever bait a school like SCA will bite to hop back in bed with the giaa.

Isn't GIAA going to keep the 8-man category going forward? I think adding 8-man in both public and private leagues has kept football alive in smaller schools. Lots of states have it. I've even heard of a 6-man league!
As for SCA, I spoke with a well-connected SCA person (a relative, not just some random fan) who told me that SCA leadership really wants to move into more challenging sports situations. I salute that!
