EBA dressed 26 for the state championship. The lineman that was hurt did get some reps in the semifinals and dressed for the final but did not play.

Fan 81 single A would be really good, and hold on I know this is gonna blow your mind. What if alllllll the 8 man teams that have 20 or more players actually played 11 man...my God what a concept. I mean could you imagine đ¤Łđ

Nope 26 I traveled with the team so I know how many we feed at cracker barrel, and the line man dressed, but was never gonna play. So 25 eligible to play.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if eba dressed 26 or all of the boys in high school. The issue is the total number turned in fell below the cut off for single A. Last cycle eba turned in 91 and the magical number was 90. Personally if giaa is going to keep both 8 man and single A then 8 man needs a firm roster limit of under 20.

Heâs saying Gatewood dressed 27 and he counted EBA at 26 which is what I said. Your earlier post said âEBA had 24 this yearâ. But that is insignificant. The real issue is how to strengthen each class in a way that is as equitable as possible. Of course with this many schools, GIAA will never please everyone. I do believe they bow to the wishes of a few. There is no sense in having a class with 5 teams in it. In a perfect world, some of the 8-man teams would step up or be âencouragedâ to play 11-man in A. Shuffle 2-3 teams each class and you could have 4 classes with approximately 12-13 teams in each class. This mentality that everything needs to be âfairâ (whatever that means) and every school should be able to compete for championships is harmful for the GIAA as a whole and not realistic. Westminster (Aug) should not be playing 8-man anymore. That is asinine. It is my understanding that the school and GIAA came to an agreement when they started their football program that they could begin in 8-man instead of being thrown into AAA (their rightful place by enrollment). I was told it was to give them time to build and move up to 11 man. That should have been the case this cycle.

the only team to win an 8 man championship and under the national roster size of 24 is WW. Some teams in the finals were pushing 40 players in the past. nothing is going to change but if WW can get a few more boys to come out, we could change our destiny. the only way WW goes 11 man is if the high school family exodus to both charter schools ends.

GIAA should eliminate 8 man and have 6 man for the really small schools so certain teams would be required to play 11 man. This would eliminate a 5 team division which is a joke.

Amen Wishbone. This 8 man thing is puzzling especially when teams have 25 to 30 kids or more on there roster and they play a game against a team with 13-14 or even less than that. Talk about unfair

An onewhoknowsall is right also; earlier today I was able to see the classified information proposal for next year, and that 5 team single A bracket IS A JOKE!!! The GIAA could just combine it with the 12-13 team AA list into one group and then take the top 12 teams and play it off like next yearâs CFP will be. As for the5-6 teams that would get left out, well those teams would likely be all 0-10, or 1-9, or 2-8 by the end of the regular season donât even want to play anymore anyhow right?

onewhoknowsall also bring up a good point about 6 man for schools that legitimately donât have enough kids, it is played in Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon Wyoming and maybe a couple of others states if you have at least 20 kids in GIAA then 11 man should be your only choice nobodyâs entitled to at least 7-8 wins and a deep playoff run every single %@#& year
