Anybody see that new movie "Overcoming The Thinclad Giants" yet? The plot seems familiar.....maybe I've seen something similar before...?
Why that fella got to star in every movie? I use the word loosely......

Any thoughts, all y'all 120 voyeurs? Or can you put five words together to make a coherent reply?

I have not seen it yet. There you go, 6 coherent words.
Once you have seen a couple of those movies, you have really “seen them all”. It doesn’t mean it’s necessarily not worth seeing them, just that they do all rely on themes common to basic human experience. So, they are relatable to many, but don’t seem “fresh”. I’ll be generous in saying they rehash truths we all know (at least deep down) but often forget or fail to live out. So, they can be powerful to some in that way.

It is not "TRUE" that if you give your life or the situation you are facing to God, then you will WIN and everything will be A-OK.
You can't overcome a health limitation to beat far superior athletes. You can't face a far superior football opponent with a shitty team and somehow beat them with a world class field goal.
That's the false theology put forward in these films and I think they are prostituting the Good News and creating a false expectation of how God REALLY works in peoples' lives.
Which leads people to despair in real life.
But it does make the Kendrick clan a few more hundred thousand dollars so good for them. And I don't think Sherwood Church gets any money off these films anymore............ no mention of Pastor Catt to be found anywhere............. but he already got plenty of money so I'm not really concerned.
