Only 3 GAPPS vs GAPPS games happening this week: 2 have region implications and 1 is a potential Title game showdown:
The marquee game this week: Griffin Christian vs. Lafayette Christian -both teams haven’t lost in single A play...and have radically different offenses. Lafayette’s ground attack has steamrolled opponents in their wins, while Griffin does most (not all) of their damage through the air. Defensively: Griffin gave up a shocking 32 points (by getting run on by a 1 win Fullington squad) in a win recently, while Lafayette has shown spotty pass defense in some games. Prediction: This is non-region, but a possible title preview so neither team is likely to rest players here. It is likely to be a high scoring affair as both defenses struggle against what the other offense does best. Lafayette by 7 as Griffin has no answer for the rushing attack of Lafayette and just can’t quite keep up on offense.
John Hancock vs Fullington: If Fullington is going to make a move and get in the playoff race it needs to be now. They are much improved over last year and pushed region favorite Griffin in a game 2 weeks ago. Hancock needs this region game badly as well and is coming off a big win. This could be a tremendous game in terms of the match up, but I think the slight size edge of Hancock favors their pulling it out. Hancock by 6
CFCA vs. Skipstone: Skipstone is a bit of a puzzle to me in terms of what they are capable of. CFCA is a more capable squad and should be able to get this region win by 16 points.

Results: Lafayette by 1: a back and forth, nail biter of a game. An early injury (2nd play) took LCS’s biggest playmaker out of the game, but LCS made several 4th down stops to save the win. Honestly, this game could have gone either way and if they face off again in the playoffs anything could happen. Hancock by 27: I thought Fullington was pulling things together late season and would make this competitive. My bad.. Skipstone by 7: In my defense.....I did say Skipstone was still a puzzle to me. Obviously it was a puzzle CFCA couldn’t solve tonight.

I always enjoy the mental picture of doecreek curled up in the fetal position on his raggedy den sofa, crying his eyes out on these Saturday mornings after his braggadocia has gotten revealed for what it is. Poor thang.

It concerns me young Immarunt is a quitter and dad doesn’t care. He claims to be in Mensa but he can get his kid away from Pokeman or reading Boys Life in the bathroom for hours. Sad but true
