Its getting close to time for the wrestling season to get underway. Does everyone think Commerce will once again run away with the title of Class A Dual Team State Champions or is there another team out there who can challenge them a little bit? Last season was alot of fun and I believe this will be another great one.

Nope!! Commerce will once again win the Dual Team State Championship without any issues. They will probably see Trion in the finals again, but hopefully Trion can win more then 3 matches. Trion does have 8 state placers returning plus another kid that was has been a state placer, but got hurt and couldnt wrestle last year, so they will for sure have a good line up, but Commerce will once again have too much firer power to handle. I did hear Commerce lose a former state placer, but then gained a nice 9th grade transfer that will be a placer! I think the best action for duals will be the ones wrestling 2-5. Outside of Commerce the next few teams will be tough against each other and fun to watch: Trion, Turner, Mt. Pisgah, Wesleyan, and Holy Innocents. I'm probably missing another "dark horse" team no one is thinking about I just know those 5 teams have a lot of kids returning and did really well last year.

I do think Commerce will be tough again this year, but bearing any injuries Mount Pisgah will give them a run for their money this year. Got 3 state placers and 1 state champion returning, plus you add Tyler Nelson, Joey Bertrand and 8 Juniors and not 1 open weight class. It will be mount Pisgah and Commerce in the Finals.

rexx, we might have to agree to disagree. Mt. Pisgah had a pretty good run last year and should do well this year, and might be able to win a few matches against Commerce, but Commerce has 6 returning state pacers with 4 being runner-ups plus the additional of a great mid-weight and a few others that will step up. Too much power! Pisgah needs to worry about getting out of their own Area against Holy Innocents and Wesleyan then they have to beat Trion. Trion has 7 returning state places along with Bo Jones who didn't place but will this year. Again, that's probably going to be the finals dual mat I want to see. But then again its only Oct and a lot can happen between now and Jan.

IMO in the dual side Commerce wins it's 7th straight without getting tested to much. Now when it comes to traditional, Darlington maybe a hand full for the Tigers.

Trion is starting to get into some really good talent. They have some stud underclassmen and middle schoolers. Trion is going to seriously challenge Commerce if not this year then the years to come.
