Just curious, why do some have hostility towards the schools that used to be in the GISA? I looked at the football playing schools in GAPPS and don't see anyone that would be able to compete with what is left of GISA.

You say you don't see anyone in GAPPS that would be able to compete with what is left of GISA right now. Here's the thing tho' Snoop.....GICAA people have been using up all the electronic oxygen on the inter-web for the last 3 years telling GISA people that their teams and competition are just as good as GISA if not better....some great imaginative creativity there and we all know it.... But you're obviously an objective observer. Which is why I say that if the top GISA teams go to GHSA and the remaining GISA teams move to GAPPS (if they'll pass the entrance exam) then quite a few of the teams who left GISA for GICAA will seek an easier path. I mean most GAPPS teams didn't even play a 10-game regular season schedule for the past several years! What the heck is that about??

I have been probably the most active GICAA guy on this board the last 2 years and I have only seen 1 guy trashing GISA (we all know who that is)... so, it’s not an epidemic. I have no issues with GISA myself.
Teams dropping out at the last minute is most responsible for the lack of games. We got dropped from 1 game last minute and one during the season. Couldn’t get replacements. Sadly, some programs who in the spring were down for 11 man struggled to field an 11man team come August. Only team you can argue scheduled weak was Sherwood, the rest seemed to do their best.

You've been one of the very few GICAA posters during that time and your posts represent the kind of dialogue that forums like this were intended to have. Most seem to be lurking. What I was referencing was back on the old board, beginning with the origin of GICAA. Of course, again, all that is unaccessible now so it's just faded memories. I guess another option for GAPPS schools like Sherwood based on their limited accomplishments even in GICAA/GAPPS is to move to 8-man which means they will have to control/limit the number of players on their roster. It's not unheard of in the sports world to have try-outs with a limited number of slots and not everybody makes it. Even Little Leaguers are used to this.

BlueRhino/GT2006/SallySideHug and however many other names that fool has/had did exactly what Intellivent is alluding to since the very beginning of the GICAA’s existence, mostly on the former Vent. There were also several Sherwood venters making ludicrous claims before their ultimate demise. The dislike was well-earned, there just aren’t many guys still around that remember it.

Well, glad I wasn’t around for that. let’s hope for better days ahead in terms of dialogue from both sides. I am all for rivalries, but unfortunately anonymous postings can bring out the stupidest part of people. Plus, scoreboards don’t lie...if you talk big, you better back it up....
There are plenty of reasonable GICAA/GAPPs folks....could use a few more as this board is mostly me, BuckRiver and you GISA folks theses days.

As for SallySideHug, I just remember that she wanted all the teams to win.

She was the face of GICAA to me. Such a cute face too. Can't forget her slogan: "A Side Hug is the Only Hug...Until You're Married". What a jewel.

I did stop by the old board a few years ago. My team was 8 man then and since they didn’t talk 8 man the discussion seemed irrelevant to me and I left quickly. The only thing I do remember is some folks talking like they had D-1 players on their 11 man squads and then I would go to the senior all-star game figuring I would be seeing some studs from those teams (in fairness I did see a couple)....however without fail 2 of the 3 best players on the field were from the 8 man division.....of course in the GICAA 8-man has been relatively large and does have a lot of players...so that isn’t exactly a surprise that some of the best players might go to small schools that can only field enough for 8-man. But, I do recall seeing some posters back then who needed a reality check.
