Yes sir, saw every match. It was no fluke, Sonoraville started out 18-0 with pins at 195, 220, and 285. Jefferson got a pin at 106, dec at 113, major at 120 and a pin at 126 to take a 1 point lead. Sonoraville then got a major at 132, pin at 138, tech at 145, major at 152. Jefferson got a dec at 160 then Sonoraville closed it out with pins at 170 and 182. Sonoraville is a strong team, I think they lose to N Hall but it will be fairly close in my opinion. Jefferson is down this year but they didn’t wrestle well either. I can’t wait for the finals tomorrow. There’s gonna be some awesome wrestling. I’ll give my predictions,
1A- Trion over Commerce in a nail biter 2A- Chattoga beats Social Circle in another good one 3A- N Hall will be too much in Sonoraville 4A- Woodward over Gilmer by double digits 5A- Woodland over Veterans by a few 6A- Pope over Richmond Hill by double digits 7A- Camden over Collins Hill in a close one
I hope I am wrong about Commerce, I just don’t have a good feeling about it. Keep in mind, I am no wrestling expert, just a fan of the sport. Give me y’all’s predictions.

I agree with you exactly on 1A, 2A and 3A. I haven’t had the chance to see the upper classes too much! Commerce and Trion seem to be the cream of 1A by a mile. Chattooga looks really strong especially in their upper weights. N. Hall should be a little much for Sonoraville but all three could go either way. It is set up to be an exciting day!!

There are a lot of good wrestlers in little ole Chattooga county. I’m pulling for both the Bulldogs and the Indians to bring it home!

Dang 4real you called them all. I need to take a trip to Vegas with you. The tournament definitely displayed a lot of talented teams. I didn’t see Jefferson losing. I guess I just penciled them in every year. I did think Chattooga was good enough dominate AA. Their big boys are for real. I didn’t see Trion winning big. I thought it would be really close. What’s your thoughts on traditional tournament?

The traditional tournament is way harder to call than duals. I am not as familiar with each weight class and who is in each weight class. So I won’t embarrass myself by trying to predict traditionals. Haha. I think the top 4 teams in each class will still be top 4 but the order may or may not be the same. If I had to bet, I would say the top teams will still be on top with the exception of maybe 5A, 6A and 7A.

As for Jefferson, they are down this year. Only having 1-2 seniors in the lineup is tough. They are starting 3 freshman and a lot of their guys are giving up a ton of weight just to fill the upper weight classes. The dual at Area between Jackson County and Jefferson was far closer than the score and Jefferson caught some breaks. So I knew it was gonna be tough for them to beat JC again. I can assure you that Jefferson will be back next year, and making some noise. There’s only a handful of teams in the state that would be totally disappointed to take home 4th at State Duals. Haha
