I'm watching from afar and been seeing your update, looks like Portal may have something special this year.

5 juniors 3 have been starting since freshman. 4 juniors averaging double figures. 2 senior centers that can shoot midrange jumpers. Most of the teams we have played had a height advantage. We will be battle tested playing all those tall 5A schools. Think it's us and Jenkins County for the region this year.

If Portal does not win a State Title this year or next (possibly both) it will be surprising. I do not see Portal losing in Portal. They have a good coach for this talented team. Jenkins County will be good, as long as they don't play down to talent. Region Tournament will be played at Jenkins County I am told. Most likely Portal and Jenkins County will meet 3 times this year and will be the byes after the regular season (If they use the bracket that gives #1 and #2 a bye). If Jenkins County wins it will be an upset. The future is bright in Jenkins County they loaded from the Sophomore (James 6'4 soph shooting guard and Williams 6'2 Soph Forward) and 8th grades (Gilmore young men going to be good 6'2" Jr; 6"4' Soph. and their younger brother is already about 6'5" 8th grader and has some talented guards sitting right now because of upperclassmen.

I watched Jenkins play Swainsboro. Jenkins has some athletes. #30 is a player. Looking forward to our game.

We need to get better at the free-throw line. And #30 is a player, part of a very good Sophomore class. We were without Wilson #2 a starting Junior guard (probably our best 3-point shooter) due to a broken nose against Metter.
