Private schools are cyclical some years you have to some years you can't afford to.

i would say WW has not been cutting but they do not promote all 8th graders to varsity teams that allow 8th graders to play.

A good thing for eighth graders to do is to practice with the varsity and get playing time on b team if they are good enough

I was talking to one of the parents of a TA girls player, the problem some schools have even in GHSA is what TA had in that they only could get a handful of Bteam games. The other downside is alot of times they only get to stand around and watch most of practice.

I remember when WW lost to #5 ranked Westover because they were not allowed to play the normal 8th graders and had to use upperclassmen that were further down the depth chart. Quality went way down. guess its who your 8th graders are.

If an 8th grader is good enough to play and they are eligible then let them play. Problem is always with upperclassmen parents getting upset because their baby doesn’t get to play because 8th grader is better. Either get better or sit the bench, everybody shouldn’t get same amount of time or just play because they are older. That’s the mindset that is wrong with this generation anyway.

an 8th grader that starts over an upper class athlete should be a rare occurrence and when it happens should be obvious to all that the 8th grader should start. the issue stems from a lack of stability, communication and trust between - coach, player, and parents. the rule today is 'ME' first and the heck with what is best for the team and my role on the team.

Our eighth grader was athletic and scored a lot of points for us this past year.
