I'm always going to say put them in the communities that supported the kids plus you lose some of the atmosphere when you put that few of fans in a big stadium

I’m with you Plowboy. I wish they would put it back like it was in the early 90’s with the semi-finals in the Benz, and the finals at a home field. I’ve been to several state championships on the home fields, and it was great for the communities.

I refuse to click onto an answer on this one because none are totally sufficient.................I understand the ghsa uses the championship games to generate revenue.................hows this for thought??..........go back to hosting the semifinals there..........more teams...more fans....more revenue..........on top of that way more players would get college exposure...........
Championship games should be held at higher seeded teams stadium as long as it meets fire marshal standards..............if both teams are equally seeded then decide it by who played the tougher schedule and that team host.................they are so many families that don't have the financial stability to make the trip to Atlanta and some who don't care to go to that racial rat hole city.....not to mention the crime........you think you'll get your windows busted at MaCo??.........try the A T L one time............
As far as the private school championships............hold them at the nearest rec dept field...........the fans probably couldn't fill up the portable mini bleachers.............now feed the monkey.....................

Play semi champ games at the Benz and championship games at higher seed home field. More teams And players get to experience playing in the benz.

I like the idea of going back to a neutral site for the semis and home for the 'ship, but I don't think it's a good idea to have them at one location, primarily to keep the smaller schools from having to play at the break of dawn. I'd like to see A D1 & D2, AA, and AAA get to play a smaller venue, such as Mercer. I think it is the right size for the smaller schools to maintain some of the small field atmosphere; it'd certainly be better than GA State's monstrosity. It might also encourage better attendance from the smaller rural schools in the South. Travel time and distance affect the teams as well. In 2000, MCA played Buford in the semis at 9am. Our team had never played on turf at that point, and left on the Wed before the game to run a few days of practice at Morehouse. Buford players slept in their beds the night before the game and had a 30 minute to the Dome. I'm not saying we could have beat them in a better situation, but it certainly didn't help to have been so far from home in the days leading up to the game.

I liked it best when the semis were in the dome and title games on home field

I think maybe Mercer might be the best "next level" place that would be fair to many schools to host a semi or a final. It is in the middle of the state (geographically fair) and it is more realistic for both schools to fill it up

Home Field, highest ranked team. Return them to the communities. Play the semi's in a big venue like the old days if need be.
